Gina’s Wroge’s Blog

God has been challenging me in my faith and I was encouraged by God to share a personal devotion in this blog today.  I am going to focus on Job 9 and 10 where Job has been persistently wrestling with God in the previous chapters and he continues to question God during this rough time in his life.

Check it out…  Job 9-10

Even though Job is continuously going through this suffering and adversary, he sees God as never changing and Job is still faithful to God even amid all the complaints that he rises against God. Job recognizes that God is God and that he is not God. He knows that God is in control and doesn’t turn from God even though he sees himself as being innocent.  Job’s heart just aches in chapter 10 crying out to God because of his suffering that he endures. He continually questions God with questions like, “Your hands shaped me and made me. Will you now turn and destroy me? Remember that you molded me like clay (Job 10:8-9).”

There are times in life when everyone suffers or hits a breaking point in their life or even in their walk with God. These times of suffering are the times in which we need to plow through knowing that there is a blessing on the other side and things will eventually get better. It is courageous to see Job not back down or abandon God during this time even though he felt like giving up, but he questioned God and pushed through the hard times. It reminds me to put on that armor of faith and push through during those distraught, confusing, and painful times. We honor and praise a God who never fails us even through the struggle and pain in life. God did not promise that there wouldn’t be trials or affliction that we would have to face, but He did promise to walk alongside us every step of the way and for that we can say thank you God.

PRAYER:

Thank you Lord God Heavenly Father for taking care of us even when we want to give up and run further and further away from you. Even in that running, you are there drawing closer to us and breaking us until we fall back on our knees in worship to your name. We thank you for those times of suffering and those times in which we have been broken. May we be strengthened to follow your will and know that you will always remain God and we are not in control. Thank you for walking alongside us and planting that seed of faith in us to grow even during the most difficult times of life. In your name we pray.Amen.

VBS 2009

This year the children had a blast at Crocodile Dock letting their lights shine.  Check out how the children helped clothe other children in the South and gave water to the homeless in Phoenix!

We had a great time learning from Pastor John and Skeeter that we can “Fear not!” because God is always with us.  Every day we learned about Moses and the Children of Israel, ate delicious snacks, did an art project – and best of all made new friends!

At the end of the week, we not only shared “God sightings” (times when we saw God at work through someone), but we let our lights shine by making hundreds of stuffed animals for kids who survive natural disasters, gave away lots of clothes to homeless children in Phoenix, and stocked Chandler’s Salvation Army with 80 cases of water bottles.  Here’s an article from the San Tan Sun News about what we did for people right here in Chandler:  VBS Water.

Sermon Series: God Only Knows

Will I have my job next year? God only knows…
Will my home be foreclosed on? God only knows…
Will my retirement savings take a nose dive again? God only knows…

There are my things that seem uncertain economically right now. And for many, that uncertainty creates fear and enslaves many. However, in this series we will discover that regardless of what the economy does around us, God is still God – faithful, loving and saving. We are challenged to engage the world and ask

Who’s lives will be touched by our words and actions? God only knows…
What possibilities exist to make a lasting difference, an eternal difference in people’s lives? God only knows…
The possibilities for how God can use you and all that He’s given you are limitless, because God only knows!
